help:tag implications
Tag Implications
A tag implication adds a second, broader tag automatically whenever the first one is used.
If @twintails@ implies @long_hair@, then every post tagged @twintails@ also counts as @long_hair@ without anyone typing it.
When an implication is right
Use one when the first tag is always a kind of the second:
- @school_swimsuit@ implies @swimsuit@,
- @cat_ears@ implies @animal_ears@.
The test is: "is every post with tag A necessarily also tag B?" If the answer is not always yes, it should not be an implication.
If the two tags mean the same thing rather than one being a kind of the other, use a tag alias instead.
Requesting one
Implications affect every post at once, so they go through a bulk update request and are applied by a moderator.
